Inauguration of Osmania College of Education Block to Perpetuate the Memory of late Alhaj M. Mahfuzul Haq

Janab Mahfuzul Haq Saheb played a dominant role as Secretary and Correspondent of Educational Institutions in Kurnool under the aegiesof Anjuman-E-Islamia and Dr.Abdul Haq Educational Academy. The nucleus of all these institutions was provided by his eminent and illustrious father Late Dr. M. Abdul Haq Saheb. Being an illustrious son of an illustrious father, Janab M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb fulfilled the ideals and aspirations of his father and the Muslim Community. During his tenure as the Secretary and Correspondent, there was a stunning development of Educational activities.

Janab Mahfuzul Haq Saheb left no stone unturned for the development of the minorities in particular and the colleges in general. He devoted his whole life for the upliftment of the poor and the down-trodden. He was a gentleman to the core who never inflicted pain on others. Had he lived for some more years, the dynamic Alhaj M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb would have further strengthened the educational institutions. He was a man of strong character and high ideals. His whole life was devoted to the cause of education.

It is with deep regret and sorrow that We record the premature death of our beloved Secretary and Correspondent Saheb on 18-07-1997. With his untimely death the college has lost a noble soul, a benefactor, a dedicated worker and a servant of Islam. A glorious chapter in the annals of the college history came to an end with the death of Janab M. Mahfuzul Haq, our beloved Secretary and Correspondent Saheb.

May Allah reward him bounteously in Heaven and May his Soul rest in Peace - Ameen.

Hajirah Degree College for Women, Hajirah Junior College for Girls, Osmania Law College, Osmania College of Education and Construction of the New Block - these are all living monuments for the progeny to remember. It is in the fitness of things that the present Governing Body has constructed a new block known as Alhaj MahfuzulHaq Memorial Block( exclusively for BEd college as per NCTE norms)

The Memorial Block, constructed to perpetuate the memory of Late M. Mahfuzul Haq, has a marble tablet which reads:
Innallaha la Ugayyiru Ma Di Quomin hatta Uggyyaru(Surah XIII, Verse XI)
Allah nahi badalta Kisi Quom Ki halath Ko
Jab tak Woh na badlein .

(ALLAH CHANGETH NOT THE CONDITION OF A FOLK UNTIL THEY (FIRST) CHANGE)

It is a tribute which Late M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb richly deserves. He was a man of the masses. He believed in the development of education, particularly among ladies and girls with purdah. When they come in and go out they would remember the great service rendered by late M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb for the cause of Women's education.

The New Block was inaugurated on 4-2-2000 by no less person than Janab M. Abdul HaqSaheb, Son-in-law of our Founder Alhaj Abdul Haq saheb and brother-in- law of late M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb.

Janab M. Abdul Haq Saheb, was the Secretary and Correspondent of our educational institutions.

We do hope and trust in the Almighty that the mission and the torch which late M. MahfuzulHaq Saheb carried during his lifetime would be fulfilled by the successive managements. This block would now fulfil the immediate requirements of Osmania College of Education exclusively and further courses of Education Department.The students and the members of the staff feel proud and happy to see several branches of the main tree sprouting to cater to the educational needs of the people in the locality.

When we ponder about late M. Mahfuzul Haq Saheb, we are reminded of:
"UNKE NEKEYAAN ZINDA
UNKE KHUBEEYAN BAAKHI."
(His Noble deeds forever so sublime,
His good qualities surpass time).

O Mahfuzul Haq Saheb! All your actions and thoughts are evident through your achievements. We, the Osmanians, look upon you as you have proved to be a guiding force in ouir lives.

To strongly have the end in mind & to make sure every day it is worked upon Profile Secretary & Correspondent, Osmania College, Committee. The daughter of Late Alhaj M.Mahafuzul Huq, Grand daughter of of Dr.M.Abdul Huq Saheb, Founder of Osmania College, Kurnool. Born on June 07, 1961, in Chennai, India. Considered as one of leading educationist, humanist and social activist of today in Kurnool. Now, she plays a passionable and dynamic role in the management of Osmania group of institutions. With international exposure by visiting United Kingdom(Oxford & Cambridge), Hongkong, Turkey, Saudi Arabia , Dubai, Thailand, Malaysia, Switzerland, Singapore & USA etc ., she is able to bring modern outlook into education and is also involved in the strategic visioning process for the institutions. Her main focus is to bring a student centered approach in the institutions. As a college student, Mrs. Azra Javed studied B.A., Psychology (Madras University), Madras and secured University 5th rank. She completed M.A., Diploma in Hospital Administration, Apollo Hospitals (1st Batch), Chennai and got 3rd rank. Discipline and Academic Excellence are the Hall Mark of Osmania College.

Administrative Experience:

3) Osmania Degree College for Men, Kurnool( affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool)
4) Osmania College for Women, Kurnool ( affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool)
5) Osmania College of Education, Kurnool ( affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool)
6) Osmania PG College, Kurnool ( affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool)

b) Under her leadership Osmania College has achieved
1) Autonomous status
2) NAAC “A “ Accreditation by UGC in 2007 up to 2012, preparing for Reaccreditation for the 2nd cycle .
3) She monitors the quality of the institutions regularly by conducting meetings through IQAC.
4) After the devastating floods the college is under enormous pressure,as there is huge loss of books, computers, lab equipment, She herself put a lot of money and efforts to bring the money from the Philanthropist to get the new books, lab equipments and computers for the college.

Awards & Rewards:
*Awarded for her service in the field of Education by State Minorities Commission (States of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana) on Minorities Welfare Day and National Education Day being 12th Birth Anniversary of Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad on 11th Nov, 2015 at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad.

*Awarded distinguished Alumnae Achiever Award by Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women (formerly SITE Women’s College), Chennai.
